GETTING TO SIARGAO ISLAND

This can be a journey of adventure. There are several options to get to Siargao. However the most frequented travel routes will carry you through Surigao City. Surigao City is the main hub to connect you with Siargao Island by a 2 to 3 hour ferry ride. The following may help you to reach this Paradise.

When you arrive from abroad in the Philippines there are two major entry ports namely MANILA and CEBU. From both ports are excellent connections to travel to Siargao. We are happy to assist you with your travel plans. To best assist you choosing the fastest and least expensive connection please let us know the City, date and time of your arrival.

If you travel via Surigao we recommend that you contact us in order to purchase your boat tickets in advance to make sure that you have a seat on a ferry. We, at Patrick’s are happy to assist you in purchasing your tickets prior to your arrival in Surigao. Simply email us your request with the name and age of each passenger. Our representative will meet you at the point of your arrival in Surigao to give you the tickets and help you with the transfer to your connecting boat.

SPECIAL CHARTER BOATS From and to Surigao City to Siargao Island
In case you travel with a larger group or you arrive in Surigao City too late to catch the ferry we can arrange for a charter of a Banka boat. The cost of a charter can range between P8,000 and P10,000 (US$180 to $230). If you charter Patrick’s boat that can take as many as up to 30 people the cost is P8000 and the boat will take you right to Patrick’s Beach in front of your beach cottage.

6. By Air from Cebu to Siargao Island:
BY AIR: Cebu Pacific www.cebupacificair.com offers a 4 weekly flights to Surigao: Tuesday – Thursday – Saturday – Sunday
Cebu to Surigao departing Cebu at 10:20 and arrives in Surigao at 11:20AM well in time to catch the noon ferry MONTENEGRO from Surigao to Siargao
Surigao to Cebu departing Surigao 11:30 and arrives Cebu at 12:20PM – it is easy to make the connection when you depart Siargao to Surigao with the 6AM ferry
CEBU PACIFIC is also planning to fly directly from Cebu to Siargao starting January 12, 2009 Please check out their website www.cebupacificair.com

From Cebu BY SEA via Surigao:
COKALIONG Shipping Lines – offers daily service from Cebu to Surigao except Sundays. This overnight ferry leaves from Pier 1 and departs Cebu at 7PM and arrives Surigao City in the morning at 6:00AM These large vessels are like cruise ships and you have a choice of accommodations: Private aircon with TV Suite/Cabin or Tourist class (sharing large aircon room with bunk beds and clean bed sheets) or economy non-aircon with bunk bed (nice sea breeze and you travel like most locals – you may have some roosters or chicken sleeping right next to you). We can purchase the tickets for you (our service charge per ticket is P500) or if you want to purchase the tickets yourself simply ask the taxi driver (only use meter taxi) in Cebu to carry you to the Cokaliong office. When you arrive Surigao City take the next fast Ferry to DAPA/SIARGAO Island. The first ferry MONTENEGRO leaves at 9AM.

7. VIA BUTUAN AIR & LAND
You can also fly from Manila to Butuan daily with Cebu Pacific Airlines www.cebupacificair.com/ The flight presently departs Manila at 11:55AM and arrives Butuan at 13:20PM. Philippine Airline also flies into Butuan from Manila http://www.philippineairlines.com/ Their schedule leaves Manila 10:20AM and arrives Butuan 11:50AM. Both airlines arrive too late to catch any ferries from Surigao to Siargao. You would have to overnight either in Btuan or in Surigao. Philippine Airlines depart Manila 10:20AM and arrive Butuan 11:50.(Depart Butuan to Manila 12:40PM) Then take the bus or a van from Butuan Bus Terminal to Surigao Bus Terminal. This is a two to three hour ride. Price for the bus fare is around P90 may be less and the van which is faster is P120. You need no reservation, simply ask for the next van or bus leaving. Once you arrive at the Surigao City bus terminal simply take any available transport to the Surigao Pier. Most likely you will have to overnight in Surigao.

8. From Davao or Cagayan de Oro City by Land via BUTUAN
With Bachelor Express buses service to Surigao via Butuan daily. Vans for hire are also available.

9. OVERNIGHT STAY
MANILA OVERNIGHT STAY: We recommend The Nichols Airport Hotel

Another inexpensive Hotel that we recommend is ISEYA HOTEL at 1241 M.H sel Pilar St. Ermita, Manila – Tel 523-8166 -68 only 20 minutes from the Airport (walking distance to the American Embassy) This is an older Hotel but clean rooms and a roof top Bar & Restaurant with Internet facilities. Both THE NICHOLS and ISEYA Hotel rates are from P1200 per night.

only a 2-minute drive to Cebu Waterfront Hotel & Casino and JY Square Mall, only 10 minutes away from Cebu Business Park and Ayala Mall and only 15-minutes from Gaisano Country Mall and SM Mall. When you book ask for special rate for Patrick’s guests P800 Standard Air-con for two persons with TV and Refrigerator. The Hotel also has an excellent Lady Dentist office on the premises.

SURIGAO CITY OVERNIGHT STAY
The closest to the pier is The Tavern Hotel. The Tavern has been newly renovated and they have a very good restaurant. All the others are not far away either. The tricycle taxis are everywhere and cost around P5 per person from anywhere to anywhere in Surigao City.

10. ARRIVAL at the SIARGAO AIRPORT or at DAPA PIER or at DEL CARMEN PIER
Upon your request we will meet you with a Van at Dapa Pier or or at Del Carmen pier or at the airport in Siargao for the scenic drive to Patrick’s on the Beach:
